Almost 6 million Venezuelans in the world will have the opportunity to express themselves, between December 5th and 12th, 2020, in the Popular Consultation for Venezuela. At this event, the embassy in the Kingdom of Belgium assured that it was willing to support all the coordination carried out by civil society in this regard.
Worldwide has been gestated in recent months a crusade for the recovery of freedom and democracy in Venezuela, where Belgium, the seat of the European Parliament, has played a transcendental role in setting key positions against Nicolás Maduro’s narco-terrorist regime.
“The Popular Consultation currently represents a great challenge for Venezuelans in the world, a challenge in which we are willing to guide and accompany our fellow citizens. We will raise our voices. We will show our discontent. We will shout to the world our thoughts and feelings and together we will demand the realization of free, transparent and credible elections,” said Ambassador Mary Ponte.
The diplomat met with the Presidential Commissioner for the Diaspora, Oscar López, and with Isabel Pereira from the organizing committee outside the Popular Consultation. Among them they discussed the first lines of action for this important activity that the interim government and its entire team will carry out in the next few days.
“We are attentive and coordinated with the National Assembly of Venezuela, the only legitimate institution recognized as democratic in our country, for this is a day that will mark a milestone in the struggle that the Venezuelan people are carrying out,” added the Venezuelan ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium.
For the official, the success of this day will be pushed through by the hope and desire for change that envelops all Venezuelans, inside and outside our mother country: “I congratulate all Venezuelans committed to freedom and democracy, who are willing to do whatever is necessary to achieve our mission, and I tell you that that day is getting closer and closer. The Popular Consultation will be a great step to continue advancing in the recovery of our country, a neuralgic step, that is why I invite all Venezuelans to participate and express their will.”
“We are many, scattered around the world, longing for freedom for the country, supporting each action proposed to raise our voices, such as this time the organization of the Popular Consultation. Join us, join us, we need volunteers like you. Your country needs you,” encouraged Ambassador Mary Ponte as a final message.
