On Monday, United States Senator Dick Durbin held a meeting with Tony Blinken, President-elect Joe Biden’s candidate for Secretary of State, to address the Venezuelan crisis.
Among the issues they addressed during the meeting held through the Zoom platform by US politicians, stood out the support for the Legitimate Government of Venezuela headed by President (E) Juan Guaidó.
“I look forward to working with Tony Blinken to reestablish America’s leadership role in the world, even when it comes to addressing the worst refugee crisis since World War II, supporting democracy in Venezuela,” said Durbin.
Durbin and Blinken spoke about the importance of the Joe Biden administration continuing to support the Presidency in Charge, in order to restore democracy in Venezuela.
The US senator has insisted to the international community to collectively reject the electoral fraud carried out by the dictatorship on December 6th, and stressed the importance of supporting the democratic struggle of the Legitimate Government to achieve free legislative and presidential elections.
