The Democratic Senator of the United States, Dick Durbin, held a meeting with the President (e) of Venezuela, Juan Guaido, where he expressed his admiration for the determination that the Venezuelan leader has shown against Nicolas Maduro’s dictatorship.
“It was an honor to speak with the interim president of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó,” said Durbin in a message released on Twitter.
Likewise, the Democratic representative lamented that “2 years after the false elections in Venezuela, it is outrageous that Maduro goes ahead with another fraudulent election, now for the legislature”.
“What is needed is a fair presidential election,” he said.
“In the face of Maduro’s brutal repression and a global pandemic, Guaidó has shown remarkable courage and determination to forge a better future for the Venezuelan people,” he said.
“I will continue supporting his efforts and will continue fighting for TPS for Venezuelans in the US,” he concluded.
