The recently elected president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, ratified the invitation to the President in Charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó to his inaguration on May 24th.
“I will invite Juan Guaidó. I will seek to support the democratic regimes of the world,” he said in his first press conference with international media.
Lasso assured that he will not invite the dictator Nicolás Maduro to the inaguration, since Ecuador recognizes Guaidó as the legitimate President of Venezuela.
The Ecuadorian President Elect ratified his position on Venezuela, expressing his support for Venezuelans in their fight for the recovery of democracy.
“Venezuelans have our full support to regain democracy and our commitment to alleviate the humanitarian crisis they face in the world,” he said.
