The Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken, ratified the commitment of the United States and Joe Biden’s administration to achieve freedom and democracy in Venezuela.
Blinken assured that Nicolás Maduro’s regime continues to systematically repress the human rights of all Venezuelans.
“It is abuse, corruption and mismanagement. It caused a humanitarian crisis, millions have nothing to eat or access to medical care,” he said.
The Secretary of State reiterated that the country continues to work with its partners in the region to increase pressure on the dictatorship and alleviate the suffering to which the Venezuelan people are subjected.
“Supporting democracy means condemning those who trample on human and democratic rights and calling on others to do the same,” he concluded.
