Deputy Desiree Barboza pointed out that there are complaints that indicate that there are hospitals in the city of Caracas where they sell vaccines between 300 and 600 dollars each,in a country with a salary that does not reach three dollars a month.
She indicated that the cases of people with COVID-19 and the number of deaths from the pandemic are increasing every day as the black market for vaccines grows. “This black market is driven by the dictatorship who refuses to design a vaccination plan for all citizens.”
This was reported by the parliamentarian for Zulia State Tuesday, May 25that the meeting of the Delegate Commission of the National Assembly, within the framework of the debate on the emergence of the black market for vaccines against COVID-19, a product of the social control practices of the dictatorship and its monopoly that benefits the regime’s mafias.
She asserted that a batch of vaccines has arrived in the country but the information on who has been vaccinated is unknown, “the data that the regime divulges is contradictory.”
She pointed out that given the little progress on the issue of vaccination, there are Venezuelans who have been forced to go to other countries to get vaccinated, but most of the population awaits for the arrival of any vaccine to the nation.
Furthermore, she requested that an urgent vaccination plan be devised that includes the healthcare sector as a priority, “we must stop the deaths of doctors, nurses and all front-line personnel.”
In this order of ideas, Deputy María Teresa Pérez said that the trafficking of COVID-19 vaccines in the country occurs, among other things, due to the opacity of information about the pandemic and the social control that the regime wants to have over all Venezuelans, “but without guaranteeing the most important thing, which is the health and life of all citizens, a human right that continues to be violated day in and day out.”
Therefore, the parliamentarian pointed out that the complaint must reach international bodies and in also, she called on the population to denounce those who sell vaccines in the country.
The Deputy Richard Blanco, during his speech, referred to a series of complaints made by the journalist Carolina Jaimes Branger in an article of her authorship with the title “Las Vacunas, the new segregation of Chavismo” where you can read part of the reality suffered by Venezuelans, as is the case with “clandestine vaccinations,” which are sold between $ 80 to $ 380, depending on the criteria of the “vaccinators,” the note indicates.
Blanco asserted that Maduro’s regime has further divided the Venezuelan population over the issue of vaccination, knowing that when it comes to a serious public health issue, any hospital or clinic must be ready, when it comes down to a pandemic situation that affects the entire population of world, but that in Venezuela the situation is more critical because we have a destroyed economy and a health system in ruins.
In the Military hospital there is a market for the purchase of “express tickets” for COVID-19 vaccines
For her part, Deputy Dinorah Figuera, president of the Permanent Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation of the National Assembly, indicated that so far there is no official information on the number of doses administered in the country, but it is believed that there are less than three hundred thousand doses delivered with growing rumors of a strong black market for vaccines.
In this regard, she recalled that the black market for vaccines applied at the Dr. Carlos Arvelo University Military Hospital, known as the Military Hospital, had already been denounced before the National Parliament, and in spite of this, “the regime says nothing.”
“In the Military hospital, if there is a market for buying express tickets for COVID-19 vaccines and they do it under the purview of the military who walk among the people who they know paid for them, this is the product of the absence of a timely vaccination plan by the regime.”
She demanded that the management of the referred hospital center open the pertinent investigations to the ultimate consequences, at the same time, inform the population about those responsible “for this terrible aberration.”
Figuera also referred to what she called a “misleading offer” by the regime, as the Venezuelan Academy of Medicine warned, about the arrival of Cuban experimental products, such as Soberana-02 and Abdala, that are in clinical trials in Cuba and another from Russia called Avifavir.
The dictatorship uses the pandemic as a mechanism of social control in Venezuela
To culminate the session the Deputy for Zulia State, William Barrientos, denounced the blockade that Maduro, regime imposed so that COVID-19 vaccines cannot enter the country and a mass vaccination program is carried out as established by the World Health Organization (WHO ) and Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
“They refused to allow the vaccines to enter and they do not bring any either and the ones that came were used to favor their militants as an ideological method of control and others are being sold on the black market.”
At the same time, he accused the dictatorship of using the pandemic as a mechanism of social control while the Venezuelan people, in addition to starving, are infested at a time when the pandemic evolution has reached its maximum peak.
“The inadequate way in which COVID-19 has been handled, which has spread in our country and took us at the most serious moment, is highly criminal because we have a health system in tatters and also, there are no supplies of any kind.”
He indicated that the regime must stop saying that because of the sanctions, vaccines do not enter Venezuela, “here there is no blockage for the entry of medicines, vaccines or medical supplies,” he stressed.
He warned that the state of alarm must be decreed and referred, for example, to the 87 doctors who have died as a result of the pandemic in the state of Zulia.
“We alert the world that this shameful regime uses the resources of Venezuelans for corruption and patronage. If they are able to set an electoral date but not able to set a mass vaccination date for our healthcare personnel, the elderly and for those with chronic diseases.”
He warned that they will continue to denounce these events because in their opinion, it is almost an induced genocide by those who have misgoverned this country for more than two decades and in turn he said that they will continue to fight together with the people so that vaccines enter the country to through the COVAX system approved by the AN.
