The Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, rejected that Nicolás Maduro’s regime prevents the inmates of the Ramo Verde prison from seeing their families.
The Secretary General demanded that Nicolás Maduro’s regime respect the human rights of the prisoners in Ramo Verde.
“We demand that the regime respect their physical integrity and allow access to their families,” he said through his Twitter account.
Almagro reiterated that Venezuela should not have political prisoners and assured that it is urgent to recover democracy and freedom in the country to restore the rule of law.
Maduro’s dictatorship has denied visits to prisoners in the Ramo Verde prison for a year. Those deprived of their liberty do not have the right to see their relatives.
