The presidential Commissioner for Human Rights and Attention to Victims, Humberto Prado, demanded that an immediate and impartial investigation be carried out on the murders of the teenagers Eduarlis Carolina Falcón and Elyannis Martinez Roñoz, so that those responsible are brought to justice.
The bodies of the young Martínez Roñoz and Falcón, residents of La Misión township in the Turén municipality in Portuguesa State, were found in a vacant lot with signs of physical torture.
“Eduarlis Falcón was 20 years old and had left her house before 7:00 am on February 22nd to go to the gym on her bike, a destination she never reached,” the presidential commissioner reported.
The corpse of the young woman was found on Tuesday, February 23rd, on the banks of the Las Marías River and the authorities, when locating her body, found a pair of shoes, a sandal, a pair of stockings, in addition to a vine.
Prado reported that the other victim “Eliennys Martínez Roñoz was 17 years old and was last seen alive on Sunday, February 21st, when she was going to mass at the evangelical church. She left her residence around 11:00 am and did not return.”
“She was found in a vacant lot called La Tabacalera in the Punta Brava sector on Monday, February 22nd, next to the municipal headquarters of the ‘Universidad Nacional Experimental de los Llanos Ezequiel Zamora’,” he ended.
