To explain the Plan Save Venezuela personally, the President in Charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, visited several parishes in the city of Caracas this Saturday, June 5th.
“The Save Venezuela Plan calls us all. We cannot resign ourselves to the fact that we cannot do anything. We are not fighting to only survive, but to live with dignity.”
He said that a National Salvation agreement is urgent to end the conflict in the country. This undoubtedly entails free and fair elections.
In the meetings he held with neighbors from various sectors, he explained that to reach an agreement there is always a possibility for negotiation as long as it has internal and international support.
“To reach an agreement, a negotiation is necessary. If there is no street pressure, there is no agreement; if there is no international pressure, there is no agreement. Free and fair elections is our demand. You have to turn an election into a solution to the conflict.”
He also stressed that the objectives must be clear, since it is not about having “a half-choice, but a real solution to the conflict at this time.” He also clarified that in the democratic alternative “we are not sucking our thumbs” and “we are not depending on the good faith of the dictatorship.”
“We cannot lay down our flag of struggle, our demands. There is a plan and a strategy. We are the majority, we are the ones who want change. We have to rebuild the country.”
He finally anounced that this Saturday, June 5th, the “Route through Venezuela” (protest)was launched by the youth and students of the country. He asked for their support and endorsement.
