The presidential commissioner for Health Emergencies and Migrant Health Care, José Manuel Olivares, and the presidential commissioner for the United Nations (UN), Miguel Pizarro thanked the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Organization Health Organization (WHO), for the progress made in the implementation of an immunization plan against COVID-19 in Venezuela.
“Our gratitude to PAHO and UNICEF for the work they have been doing so that there is an agreed vaccination plan and that Venezuela has access to vaccines against COVID-19,” said Commissioner Pizarro in a message broadcast through his personal Twitter account.
On the other hand, Commissioner Olivares reiterated that a vaccination plan is urgently needed in Venezuela. “We thank humanitarian agencies and actors for their efforts to achieve this. Our fight is for the Health and Life of Venezuelans,” he asserted.
This Thursday, the Chief of Mission of PAHO and WHO for Venezuela, Paolo Balladelli, announced that he had received the national vaccination plan designed by the Legitimate Government, the Scientific Society of Venezuela and civil society.
“We insist on the importance of a vaccination plan agreed upon and that it has sufficient resources to reach all Venezuelans,” said the WHO and PAHO official.
