The Presidential Commissioner for the United Nations, Miguel Pizarro, reported that the first of two flights with freezing equipment arrived in Venezuela to strengthen the cold chain and improve the equipments necessary to preserve vaccines.
“Since the beginning of vaccination worldwide we have highlighted the importance not only of the arrival of the Covid-19 vaccine to Venezuela, but also of strengthening the cold chain in the country in order to have a safe and effective supply chain,” he stated through his Twitter account.
Pizarro reaffirmed that specialists, medical academies, unions and medical societies have reiterated the call to invest efforts and resources in this area.
The Commissioner thanked the efforts of Unicef and the United Kingdom, to make possible the arrival of freezing equipment to the country and their continued support to Venezuelans in the midst of the humanitarian crisis.
This Wednesday, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced the arrival in Venezuela of the first flight with freezing equipment to strengthen the country’s cold chain and improve equipment, which will allow maintaining the quality and effectiveness of the vaccines until their application.
