The Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights and Victim Care, Humberto Prado, demanded the immediate release of political prisoner Raúl Baduel, who has been kept in isolation by the regime in violation of his rights.
Prado said that Baduel has been kept six months in subhuman conditions, and relatives and lawyers have not been able to ascertain his health condition.
The Commissioner informed that he is documenting and reporting this fact to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, the Executive Secretary of the IACHR, Paulo Abrao, and the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro.
The family of Raúl Baduel have denounced that their father has been incommunicado and isolated for more than 170 days. He was taken on the night of February 14th from Fuerte Tiuna, where he had been imprisoned since mid-2019, to a place they still do not know.
